FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Repeat! Horseback riding is an inherently dangerous activity. Safety is our number one priority. All riders must sign a liability waiver and observe our safety rules. All riders must agree to accept full personal responsibility for any injury that may result from participating in equestrian activities at the Stables.

Can horses be ridden double?
No. For safety reasons double riding is prohibited. Children must be 16 years old or older to ride.

How many people can go on a horseback ride at one time?
Most of our horseback rides consist of two plus a guide. We can extend this to three - plus guide.

How many people can go on a carriage ride at one time?
Three - plus driver and assistant.

Can I ride a horse if I have never ridden before?
You bet! We have excellent horses and very attentive guides. Our horseback rides are enjoyable for all inexperienced riders.

Can we run the horses?
No. Our rides follow beautiful fields and trails that is not suitable for running horses, and for the safety of the riders and our horses running is not allowed.

Are helmets available?
Yes, equestrian helmets are available free of charge and riders are encouraged to use them. Participants younger than 18 years old are required to wear a helmet. Wearing a helmet is optional for adults but you will be required to sign a further liability disclaimer if you decide not to.

Can we ride on our own without a guide?
No, our special use permit and insurance require that each ride be accompanied by a guide.

Are reservations required?
Yes. All rides are pre-scheduled so guests must make reservations in advance of their stay.

Is there a weight limit or other requirements for people riding horses?
Yes. Participants must weigh less than 240 pounds and be physically and mentally able to ride a horse on their own in order to participate in the rides.

How do I decide if I or a partner am eligible or able to ride?
Review the ride descriptions and consider your physical health and strength. If you have questions, give us a call, we would be happy to assist you.

Others only charge $25.00 for a ride? What justifies your $30.00 rate?
Most other organizations' rides are 1 hour (vs our 1-1/2 hour session), they cater to up to 25 riders at a time (we limit it to three max), and we include a 20 minute, 101 lesson in horseriding. You do the maths!

Do I have to sign the waivers?
Yes!!
